invitation for non-profit organization
A client in Chicago, CapitalPlus Exchange, wanted me to create an invitation to be mailed for a fundraising dinner. I was told that the theme should be ethnic and that we had to keep all the informational text, without a hierarchy other than the "save the date!" tagline at the beginning and the contact info at the end. This is what I came up with:

GD2: How to draw a grungy retro design

Full disclosure: I saw a piece of art very similar to this on abduzeedo.com of an old man with a face riveted together; I wanted to see if I could recreate the same concept with my own take on the piece. The original had mostly straight lines, but I thought introducing more curves and diagonals would strengthen the impact.
